Singer-songwriter Jackie Jo is proof that it’s never too late to follow the music that won’t leave you alone. A classically trained singer and violinist, a practicing psychiatrist, a mom of two, and now—three albums in—an artist finding her true voice at the intersection of jazz, country, and unshakable truth.
After nearly 2 decades in New York City and now back to her roots in the SF Bay, Jackie's life has always been full of contrasts: science and soul, motherhood and melody, discipline and wild inspiration. Her songs, influenced by greats like Joni Mitchell and Chris Stapleton and other contemporaries like Ella Langley and Kasey Musgraves, draw on personal stories and universal themes—love, loss, identity, and the long road back to yourself.
Her lyrics are sharp and intimate, her melodies warm and haunting. She writes not because she chooses to, but because she has to. Often, the spark arrives in the quietest moments—when a child is sleeping beside her or during a 4 a.m. haze—and it won’t let her go until the song is complete.
Her debut LP Sweet Satisfaction is a heartfelt fusion of jazz phrasing and country storytelling, a sonic journal of resilience and connection. Writing and performing music has become not only a creative outlet but a source of healing—what got her through the pandemic, lonely freeway commutes, and the weight of the everyday.
Whether you're tuning in for the first time or have followed since her first EP, Jackie Jo's music welcomes you into something deeply human: the need to feel heard, seen, and connected.
